7 years ago when Olivia was almost 3 I was discovering the Montessori method and started making things around the house accessible for her and easier for her to do independently. 🥰🥰

This is what I wrote in the original post:

Embracing the DIY methods around here!

Since looking into Montessori I’m learning that I just don’t give Olivia enough credit and she can do much more than I think she can.

If you make things accessible for kids and show them the steps to accomplish them, they can do it!!

Take simply washing hands for example. I got Livi this cute step stool so she can reach the sink. I showed her how to turn it on, get soap, and scrub her hands while she sang the abc’s and then dry her hands.

I didn’t go smoothly the first time but now she does it by herself and the most amazing thing is she’s SO PROUD of herself when she’s done.

I keep trying to think of other things she could be doing to help herself around the house instead of me doing it for her.

My tiny human is growing up!

11 months old! Hannah has been standing up on her

11 months old! Hannah has been standing up on her own and has taken her first couple of wobbly steps! She’s constantly walking while holding onto things for support. She learned how to climb up the stairs this month too. She loves to swing, play with her sister, and being outside! She’s been practicing her baby signs, her favorite being milk! 😆 She is doing all done and more pretty well too. Hannah waves bye bye and has the biggest smiles for her friends and family that visit us.

Added to the blog! I can’t wait for rhubarb and strawberry season and they’re so close!! My rhubarb is starting to come up already and my strawberries are looking good. Fresh crumbles and pies 🥧 plus can some pie filling for later. Yum!

Hannah banana is 10 months old! She can sit up by herself, she LOVES to stand, and she is the biggest momma’s girl. She popped her first 2 teeth this month and has been working toward walking. She army crawls and pulls herself all over the floor. She started to get off of her bed and move toward some toys when she wakes up from her naps.

We enjoy every moment with you. Hannah is finally sleeping mostly through the night and she loves when her daddy puts her down for naps. She eats her weight in food every day and perfected drinking out of a straw. 😆

Thinking back to when I made my first batch of Oats & Honey Soap. Such a mild and natural scent with a hint of exfoliation from the ground oats. Honey is naturally antibacterial and is it moisturizing so it will leave your skin feeling soft! So many things to learn about the natural world and how these ingredients can help us.

The girls and I had just walked away from working

The girls and I had just walked away from working on building the grape trellis when I walked towards the garden from the back of the property.

It kind of just smacked me in the face and I felt such a mixed feeling of achievement and being blessed.

I didn’t build this in a day. And I have such a bigger dream that I’m still working towards. But man has it been fun. And I feel so thankful to be able to put out in the world an area for me and my family to enjoy that brings health to out bodies. And knowing that I have built this with my own two hands… I feel blessed to have picked up skills to have done this along the way.

I love just watching these little girls! We had a long walk from the house to the back of the yard. We sat in the grass and relaxed before we took a walk back. They were so sweet just hanging out by me.

If you are looking to get ducks I highly recommend it. But before you do check out the blog post I wrote on the importance of niacin and how to be sure they are getting enough.

My first set of ducks was hard. I thought I had researched all I needed to know. And after having chicken for 3 years I thought how different could it be?

Well it’s not hard at all when you know what to do. But it can be very sad when things go wrong.

Having all your ducks in a row is not as easy as one would think! 🤣

Now before you go and judge me for having animals like this in my house. 🤣🤣 I have learned that if I keep them in a brooder in My Home for at least a week or two and then bring them to their forever home out back they are still in love with me and my kids and act like pets. If I put them straight outside, they don’t get to know us right away and sometimes they never warm up to us.

The trick it to hold them - a lot!! So we hold them watching tv. We hold them when we do school. We hold them just to hold them. And then they bond with us. The same trick works with chickens.

It’s pepper time!! Woot woot!! 🫑🌶️🫑🌶️
