Review of GroVia All in One Newborn Cloth Diapers
We’ve been using the Newborn All-In-One Grovia Cloth Diapers for 6 weeks now and we love them! My daughter was born at 8lbs 14oz but by the time we got home she had lost almost a whole pound (yeah, we had a slight weight issue), so she wore them as a 7lb 14oz baby and is about 9lbs and is still wearing them. According to the Grovia website, newborn cloth diapers are great for newborns between 5 and 12 pounds.
I chose the GroVia brand of cloth diapers because the company is committed to high-quality, healthy, and environmentally friendly products. They also have some organic cotton options that I am excited to try out when my baby grows out of her newborn diapers.

What I love about the newborn cloth diapers
There are a lot of things that drew me to GroVia diapers. The number one thing I was looking for in a cloth diaper was the cleanest option possible. I wanted to keep my baby as far away from chemicals as possible, within reason! GroVia boasts a 100% organic cotton line (I’ll use those when we outgrow newborn diapers) and other clean products.
The diapers have adjustable snaps that make for a perfect fit every time. I bought mine from a friend so I was lucky enough to get a big assortment of colors. This also meant that some of the ones we use are more stretched out in the elastic than others so we really utilized the snaps.
So far, the diapers have been super easy to care for. Since they are all-in-one diapers, they work the same as disposable diapers. You put the diaper on, baby goes potty, you take the diaper off and instead of going into a diaper genie or the garbage, the diaper goes into a wet bag, like these ones!
The best thing about using these diapers, along with the other natural products, is that we haven’t struggled with diaper rash. I’ve used diaper rash cream a couple of times for some minor redness just to be safe. I like the La Petite French brand of diaper rash cream. It is cloth diaper-friendly!
What I don’t love about them and how I fixed it
While I love these diapers, I do have one complaint so far. My little babe sleeps for 4-6 hours at a time and she usually wakes up with wet jammies. I know this is the case with many disposable diapers as well but it was worth mentioning. To help with this issue I started folding one of GroVia’s cloth wipes into thirds and putting it in the diaper. This really helps with the leaking! When we upgrade to bigger GroVia diapers, I plan to put in an extra soaker or use the ONE diapers at night so we can keep her clothes dry during her longer stretches at night.
Washable Cloth Wipes & Diapering Lotion/Spray
As I mentioned, I use the cloth wipes as an extra layer of absorbency in the newborn AIOs and I’m so glad I did! It is making our newborn cloth diaper experience so much better. I also love using cloth wipes as wipes instead of regular disposable ones. I’ll admit that I was skeptical at first! I didn’t really want to mess with making a solution to keep the wipes in so they are wet because then I have to worry about making something extra and making sure they don’t stay wet too long and mold. No thank you, I’m trying to make my life easier not more difficult!
Instead of that, I use La Petite Organic Diapering Lotion. I love this lotion. It is organic and has simple, natural ingredients. It is soothing and gentle on my baby’s skin and makes getting her butt clean super easy. I am still on my first bottle of diapering lotion and we are 6 weeks into our newborn cloth diaper journey.
My Newborn Cloth Diaper Washing Routine
Washing our diapers has been easier than I expected and even my husband has admitted so. My baby is exclusively breastfed so there’s no need to rinse the diapers. When we’re done changing her diaper we toss the diapers and wipes into a wet bag until it’s time to wash. I have two large wet bags for her bedroom and two small wet bags to go in my diaper bag for when we’re traveling.
With a stash of 25 newborn diapers, I wash every other day. The diapers go in the washer with my daughter’s clothes and the cloth wipes to make the load big enough. I use a Tide Powder detergent on a regular hot water cycle with a presoak and extra rinse. Everything gets dried on low heat and it usually takes about 90 minutes. I do timed dry for 60 minutes and then start it again for about 30. Edit to note that my wash routine changed a bit after my daughter started solid foods. I now do two wash cycles. I tried a few different all-natural detergents and unfortunately they just did not work to get all the yuck out of my daughter’s diapers.
